Waterless urinal technology
Two main types of waterless urinal technology:
1) Chemical or oil cartridges – urine will pass through a chemical barrier or oil which in turn is meant to create a seal to reduce odours. This system has high maintenance costs, alongside frequent replacement of expensive cartridges.
2) Waterless WC only uses the URIMAT patented Active Trap or membrane trap – The latest waterless urinal technology has been proven to be much more effective at stopping odours, easier to maintain and significantly cheaper.
The exchangeable and patented Active Trap stores and distributes the urine into the drainage system without the use of water. No chemicals or oils are used and no odours can develop.
How does the waterless urinal work?
Urine is directed via a funnel effect through the odour trap running into the vertically positioned membrane and into the sewage system.
Once the urine stops, the membrane automatically closes preventing gases from the sewages system escaping.
Active Trap includes the MB-Active Cube which stops the waste pipe being encrusted with urine deposits, fats and urine deposits.
Once the red area under the transparent cover becomes visible the cube has dissolved and the trap will need replacing.
The vertical membrane technology guarantees that all odours will be completely sealed and unable to escape.
